The dialogue with Alma Hernandez and her fascination with sheep's wool led me to invite her to a Material Residency. We both inspired each other's creative process. Our reflection circled the touch; between people, material, and limits.

Wool merges with clay in this collaboration with the Mexican ceramic artist Iohan Figuera. The resulting Pillowpets are fragile plush animals consisting of soft wool bodies with ceramic faces, hands or fins. They are reminiscent of long extinct creatures and invite you to touch them, while their fragility reminds you to be careful.
